Florida Roadside
These original oil paintings are inspired by the weird and wonderful sights found throughout the state of Florida. In the paintings - as in Florida itself - the ordinary and the wild live side by side with a vivid blend of light and shadow, bright color and metallic accents.
Ocean Dreams
I’ll never forget the first time I experienced the ocean. I was a young boy on a family trip to Florida. At the end of a long drive, late at night, we walked up wooden steps on a sand dune covered in sea grapes. The air was balmy, a warm breeze bringing briny smells of seaweed, and a roar of something just beyond. At the top, I stood in awe. I felt the power and rhythm of the waves crashing down, retreating and leaving foam to bubble on the sand. Mesmerized by the endless expanse of a living darkness reflecting the sky.
